Product Overview

The SAFECARE Dengue NS1 Rapid Test Device is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Dengue virus antigens in human whole blood, serum, or plasma specimens. It serves as an auxiliary tool for healthcare professionals and point-of-care (POC) professionals to diagnose Dengue virus infection.

Disease Background

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection prevalent in tropical regions, caused by the dengue virus. Timely and accurate diagnosis is critical for guiding clinical treatment, preventing disease progression to severe forms such as hemorrhagic fever or shock syndrome, and controlling viral transmission-primarily by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

Early detection of the NS1 antigen, which is detectable within 1–7 days after symptom onset, allows healthcare providers to intervene promptly, thereby reducing the risk of complications and improving patient outcomes. The SAFECARE Dengue NS1 Rapid Test Device supports this goal by offering a fast, on-site method to detect the virus during the early stages of infection.

FAQ

Q: What specimens can be used with this test device?

A: The device is compatible with human whole blood, serum, and plasma. Ensure specimens are clear and non-hemolyzed; avoid gross lipemia, gross hemolysis, or turbidity (these may interfere with result interpretation).

Q: How should specimens be stored if testing is delayed?

A: Serum/plasma: Store at 2-8℃ (36-46℉) for up to 7 days; freeze at -20℃ (-4℉) for longer storage.
Whole blood: Do not freeze; test as soon as possible.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Thaw frozen specimens slowly at room temperature and mix gently before testing. If specimens have visible particulates, centrifuge to clarify first.

Q: What causes invalid results?

A: Insufficient sample or procedural errors. Repeat with a new device.

Q: Can expired tests be used?

A: No. Use only within the validity period.
